  • 1 1/4 cup (150 g) cake flour
  • 1/4 cup (50 g) granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon (5 g) baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon (5 g) baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 1 tablespoon (15 g) vegetable oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup filling (red bean paste, Nutella, custard, etc.)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the cake flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, beat the egg and mix in the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  3. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and gently fold until just mixed.
  4. Preheat your taiyaki pan over medium heat and lightly grease it with oil.
  5. Pour a small amount of batter into each mold, add your chosen filling on top, then cover with more batter.
  6. Close the pan and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
  7. Remove from the pan and let cool slightly before serving warm.
