  • Total Time: 48 minutes
  • Yield: Makes approximately 12 servings 1x

Ingredients

  • flour
  • butter
  • sugar
  • yeast
  • milk
  • egg
  • salt
  • raspberry jam
  • custard: milk
  • custard: sugar
  • custard: egg yolks
  • custard: vanilla
  • custard: cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Prepare the dough by mixing flour, butter, sugar, yeast, milk, egg, and salt in a mixing bowl until well combined. Knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Let it rise in a warm area until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  2. Make the custard by whisking together milk, sugar, egg yolks, vanilla, and cornstarch in a pot over low heat until thickened. Remove from heat and let cool.
  3. Once the dough has risen, punch it down gently and roll it out into a rectangle on a floured surface. Cut into squares.
  4. Place a spoonful of custard and raspberry jam in the center of each square and fold corners over to create bundles.
  5. Preheat oven to 200°C (392°F). Bake buns on a parchment-lined baking sheet for 15-18 minutes until golden brown. Allow cooling slightly before serving.
