- Ground beef
- Cremini mushrooms, diced
- Onion, chopped
- Garlic, minced
- Beef broth
- All-purpose flour
- Unsalted butter, chilled and cubed
- Ice water
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, add a splash of oil and sauté chopped onions until translucent. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
- Stir in ground beef; cook until browned. Add diced mushrooms and cook until softened. Pour in beef broth, season with salt and pepper, and simmer for 10 minutes.
- For the crust, mix flour and salt in a bowl. Cut in chilled butter until crumbly, then gradually add ice water to form dough. Chill for 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out dough into circles; line a baking dish with one circle and fill with beef mixture. Cover with remaining dough, sealing edges.
- Cut slits in the top crust for steam to escape and bake for 35-40 minutes until golden brown.
