Ingredients

  • Ground beef
  • Cremini mushrooms, diced
  • Onion, chopped
  • Garlic, minced
  • Beef broth
  • All-purpose flour
  • Unsalted butter, chilled and cubed
  • Ice water

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, add a splash of oil and sauté chopped onions until translucent. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  2. Stir in ground beef; cook until browned. Add diced mushrooms and cook until softened. Pour in beef broth, season with salt and pepper, and simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. For the crust, mix flour and salt in a bowl. Cut in chilled butter until crumbly, then gradually add ice water to form dough. Chill for 30 minutes.
  4. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out dough into circles; line a baking dish with one circle and fill with beef mixture. Cover with remaining dough, sealing edges.
