- 2 pounds fresh strawberries

- 1 store-bought angel food cake or pound cake (10-12 ounces)
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine sliced strawberries with granulated sugar and let sit for about 10 minutes to macerate.
- Crumble the angel food cake or pound cake into small pieces.
- In serving cups or glasses, layer the crumbled cake followed by a layer of macerated strawberries with their juices.
- Top with a generous dollop of whipped cream and repeat the layering until cups are filled, finishing with whipped cream.
- Garnish each cup with a fresh strawberry slice or mint leaf if desired. Serve immediately or refrigerate for up to one hour.
