  • 120 ml whole milk
  • For the Glaze: 120 g powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 175°C. Grease and line a 23 cm round cake pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat softened butter and sugar until pale and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in lemon zest and juice until combined.
  5. Gradually add flour, baking powder, and salt; mix gently until just combined.
  6. Incorporate milk gradually until batter is smooth.
  7. Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30–35 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean.
  8. While baking, whisk together powdered sugar and lemon juice for the glaze.
  9. Once cooled briefly in the pan, drizzle the glaze over the cake.
