  • ¾ teaspoon cream of tartar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar (for rolling and sprinkling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and line three baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, beat together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and powdered sugar until creamy. Mix in the canola oil until combined, then add the egg and both extracts.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt. Gradually incorporate this into the wet mixture until just combined.
  4. Set aside some granulated sugar for topping. Roll dough into balls and coat in sugar before placing on baking sheets.
  5. Flatten slightly with a cookie stamp or glass bottom.
