  • 1 ¼ cups cold unsalted butter, cut into slices
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 bars sweetened chocolate bar

Instructions

  2. Knead gently into a ball and refrigerate for one hour.
  3. Prepare the cold butter layer by beating it between parchment paper into a square; refrigerate.
  4. Roll dough into a square, place cold butter in the center, and fold corners over it to seal.
  5. Roll out the dough evenly and fold it to create layers; refrigerate after each fold.
  6. Shape croissants by rolling dough strips with chocolate filling inside.
  7. Brush with egg wash and let rise before baking at 400°F (200°C) for about 15 minutes.
