  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon

  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • For the cinnamon filling: ⅓ cup brown sugar, 1 Tbsp ground cinnamon, 2 Tbsp melted butter
  • For the vanilla glaze: 1 cup powdered sugar, 2–3 Tbsp milk, ½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and brown sugar.
  3. In another bowl, cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in eggs one at a time and add vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually mix in the buttermilk alternately with the dry ingredients until just combined.
  5. For the cinnamon filling, mix together brown sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter to form a paste.
  6. Layer half of the batter in the pan, add spoonfuls of cinnamon filling on top, then swirl it through with a knife. Add remaining batter and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 40–45 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool before glazing.
  8. For the glaze, whisk powdered sugar and milk until smooth; drizzle over cooled loaf.
