Ingredients
- 1 pound fresh crab meat
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped parsley
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped chives
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 loaf French baguette, sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- If using fresh crabs, steam for about 10 minutes until bright red, then cool and extract the meat.
- In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat, add garlic, and sauté until fragrant (1-2 minutes).
- In a mixing bowl, combine crab meat, melted garlic butter, lemon juice, parsley, chives, salt, and pepper; mix gently.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Brush baguette slices with olive oil on both sides and arrange on a baking sheet.
- Toast in the oven for 5-7 minutes until golden brown.
- Spoon the crab mixture onto each toasted slice and return to the oven for an additional 5 minutes.
- Garnish with paprika if desired and serve immediately.
