Instructions
- Remove the green tops from the strawberries and chop them into pieces.
- In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine the chopped strawberries, sugar, lemon juice, and salt.
- Cook while stirring until the juices release, then increase to low-medium heat for about 15 minutes.
- Regularly stir and mash the mixture with a potato masher for desired texture.
- Continue cooking until thickened; remove from heat and allow to cool before storing.
