Ingredients
- 2 large chicken breasts
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt & pepper to taste
- Flour for dredging
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 3 tablespoons butter (divided)
- 8 ounces cremini mushrooms (sliced)
- 1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1/2 cup white apple vinegar
- 3/4 cup heavy cream
Instructions
- Cut chicken in half lengthwise to create four thinner pieces. Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper, then coat in flour.
- Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chicken for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown. Transfer to a plate.
- In the same skillet, add remaining butter, mushrooms, and Italian seasoning. Cook until mushrooms release their moisture, about 5-6 minutes.
- Stir in minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about one minute.
- Add white apple vinegar to deglaze the pan, scraping browned bits off the bottom. Let simmer for 2-3 minutes until reduced by half.
- Pour in heavy cream and return chicken to the skillet. Cook for an additional 5 minutes or until the chicken is fully cooked and sauce thickens slightly. Adjust seasoning if necessary before serving.
