  • 2 large ripe bananas
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg for cream cheese filling
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract for cream cheese filling
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar for cinnamon sugar swirl
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon for cinnamon sugar swirl

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan and line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mash the bananas until smooth. Whisk in melted butter, then add brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract; mix until combined.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  4. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture; stir gently until just combined.
  5. In a separate bowl, beat together cream cheese, granulated sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  6. Prepare the cinnamon sugar by mixing granulated sugar with ground cinnamon in a small bowl.
  7. Pour half of the banana batter into the prepared pan. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture over this layer and spread the cream cheese filling on top. Add remaining batter and sprinkle with remaining cinnamon-sugar mixture; swirl gently with a knife.
  8. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Allow to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
