- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon instant yeast
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter (cold)
- 3/4 cup warm milk
- 1 cup dark chocolate chips
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and yeast. Gradually mix in warm milk until a cohesive dough forms. Knead briefly until smooth.
- Shape into a rectangle, wrap in plastic, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- Prepare the cold butter block by rolling it between parchment sheets into a rectangle. Refrigerate until firm.
- Roll out chilled dough, place butter in the center, fold edges over, and roll into a long rectangle. Fold into thirds and chill again.
- Roll out dough again and cut triangles. Place chocolate at the base and roll towards the tip to shape croissants.
- Allow them to rise for 1 to 1.5 hours before baking at 400°F (200°C) for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
