Ingredients
- 2 large boneless skinless chicken breasts
- ¼ cup flour
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup white apple vinegar
- 4 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 cup chicken broth
- ¼ cup heavy cream
- 1/3 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- Juice of 2 tablespoons fresh lemon
Instructions
- Slice chicken in half lengthwise and pound to about ½ inch thick.
- Season chicken with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper; dredge in flour.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and sear chicken until golden brown.
- Remove chicken and deglaze the pan with white apple vinegar; reduce by half.
- Add butter, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, and chicken broth; boil briefly.
- If desired, thicken sauce with cornstarch mixed with cold water.
- Stir in heavy cream and Parmesan until melted; return chicken to skillet and spoon sauce over it.
- Simmer for an additional 5 minutes before finishing with fresh lemon juice.
